How to Balance Staying Fit and Motherhood // BodyBoss 12-wk Fitness Program

The second I got pregnant with Aimery, I knew my body would never be the same. I knew that over the next nine months my body would change from being a young woman's body into one that belongs to a mother. Don't get me wrong, I think bringing a baby into the world is the most beautiful thing -- but I would be lying if I said I didn't stress about what my postpartum fitness would look like during my pregnancy. I was really worried that my body wouldn't "bounce back" the way I wanted it to after having Aimery.  Well, Aimery is one year old now and over the last few weeks I've decided to start REALLY kicking off my health (you may have read about my recent lifestyle change in this post). One way I've started to stay fit was through starting BodyBoss - The Ultimate 12-Week Fitness Guide.

It has been really hard for me to work out this past year. Just like a lot of moms, breastfeeding Aimery allowed me to maintain my pre-baby weight, so honestly I wasn't too concerned about working out while nursing (personally, working out wasn't good for my milk supply). But once I stopped nursing and went back to work, I had zero motivation to work out. Plus, no part of me wanted to go to the gym once I was finally home with my baby! When I quit my job to be a stay at home mom/blogger, it was still really hard for me to make time for my fitness (once bedtime came around I was so done for the day). Trying to balance the craziness of motherhood and attempting to make it to the gym every day was difficult. I have talked about this a few times with mothers on my Instagram page asking them how they balance motherhood and staying fit. A lot of other mama's recommended working out from home, so when BodyBoss reached out to me about writing a review for their 12-Week Step-By-Step Fitness Program I couldn't say no.

The BodyBoss Ultimate Fitness Guide is a 12 Wk Step-by-Step workout program that utilizes high intensity interval training (HIIT) to create workouts that are only 24 minutes long, and should be done 3 times a week. I think I can speak for all moms that we deserve to spend 24 minutes every few days on our health! I personally like working out after bedtime (Aimery is now going to bed at 7pm), but I know during nap time and early in the morning works best for other parents! Also, the cool thing about BodyBoss is that it allows you to also work out while your babies are awake in the comfort of your own home, or the yard in our case! BodyBoss also have a 4 week bonus pre-training guide for those of you who are new to HIIT!

As Aimery gets older, I'm definitely going to be staying active with him. I think it is important for me to show my children that I exercise to be healthy and strong, and not to focus on my weight. I felt a difference after working out with BodyBoss every day -- I felt more energized and my muscles were even sore the next day! Even though Aimery is too young to truly understand what I'm doing (check out his face above), I'm looking forward to teaching him the importance of making time to stay active. I love BodyBoss because it allows us to work out together -- even if he's just staring at me for now. BodyBoss is available both through a physical copy of the book and online. You can purchase them here.

I have been sponsored by BodyBoss for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
