Best Eats at Woodloch Resort

We recently had the opportunity to stay at Woodloch Resort, which happened to be our first vacation since February. With all of the uncertainty and sudden changes due to COVID, I wanted to be 100% comfortable before making the jump to start traveling again! We visited Woodloch two years ago and we had the best experience as a family, and I remember even back then how clean the resort was. After reading their special statement about the action steps they are taking for resort wellness, I felt comfortable booking our trip!

As we are all adjusting to a new normal, Woodloch is ensuring the safety of their guests as their number one priority. Woodloch has brought back their Woodloch Experience while encouraging their staff and guests to Resort Responsibly, which includes their promise to keep the safety of their guests, staff, and community clearly in focus at all times while maintaining a fun and value-packed vacation experience. They are maintaining aggressive cleaning protocols, social distancing their staff, wearing masks and protective gear, doing wellness checks, and providing hand sanitizer and hand washing stations across their resort.

Although there have been small changes to activities and housekeeping, the overall experience at Woodloch has remained consistent. The best part about Woodloch is all the outdoor activities they offer for people of all ages, so practicing social distancing comes easily! The indoor and outdoor pools, lake, mini golf, boat tours, and daily outdoor activities were all things we enjoyed most during our stay. Oh, and the delicious food!

We stayed at Edgewater Suites, and were within close walking distance to the best amenities, lake, and dining room. We stayed in the one-bedroom Springbrook Suite and had plenty of room for all of us, with two queen beds and a queen pullout couch! Each room has a private patio or balcony, two televisions, two bathrooms, a kitchenette, and washer and dryer. We had a beautiful view of the lake and loved that it was close to everything at the resort!  One of our favorite parts of Woodloch is actually walking from one place to another on the property, I enjoyed the beautiful lake views and my four year old, Aimery, always enjoys chasing the chipmunks and creating stories about them. It’s so fun creating new memories every year we come to Woodloch!

Woodloch is known by many for their amazing dining experience. We opted-in for the American Meal Plan and had three meals daily in their main dining room. Their seasonal menus provide options that everyone can enjoy - including the best dessert I’ve ever had! They also have theme nights on Wednesday nights in the summer, where you’ll find the dining room has been transformed to represent this year’s theme and all the members of their greeting line are dressed to play the part. While eating dinner together, we were able to enjoy the sunset and watch birds fly into their birdhouses close to the lake. Every night, Aimery would count the birds and join in conversation with our table-neighbors. All the guests and staff at Woodloch are so friendly!

Aimery’s favorite activity at Woodloch are the numerous pools on the property! They offer newly renovated indoor and outdoor pools (complete with a tiki bar!), along with kiddie pools, and indoor and outdoor splash pads. The Double Corkscrew waterslide is a hit for the kids, along with their Superdome water tower with 300 gallons of water. Adults can also take advantage of their several jacuzzis and hot tubs, both indoor and outdoor. It’s a relaxing time for everyone!

When we weren’t in the pool, we were enjoying Lake Teedyuskung with about three miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of about 30 feet! There’s so much to do on the lake, including kayaks, rowboats, paddleboats, paddleboards, sailboats, and guided tours - my personal favorite! Daily activities such as the boat tour are easily available for sign-ups on the Woodloch app or front desk, so they can allow for smaller groups for social distancing. Woodloch thinks of everything!

After a long day of swimming, we spent our evenings doing Woodloch’s daily activities as shared on their app. Aimery also loved running around in the indoor and outdoor playgrounds! Their new HUGE lakeside playground was so much fun, and mini golf was available to play for free right next to the playground. Being at Woodloch truly felt like we reached the “new normal” we have been waiting for so long. It’s no surprise they have been nominated by USA Today's 10Best Awards as the “Best Family Resort in America” for the second year in a row! You can vote here to help Woodloch in their quest to take home the "gold" once again!

We had the best time creating memories as a family that will last a lifetime at Woodloch. Book your next trip, here!
