RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES

The Ronald McDonald House Charities and BabbleBoxx have come together to educate new parents on keeping their families healthy and happy. RMHC operates its three core programs: Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room, and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Through this global network, RMHC has been able to do way more than provide families with shelter for travel when receiving medical care. These programs have provided comfort and relaxation for families as they’re in the hospital so they can decompress, while also bringing healthcare resources to communities who need it most. If you’re interested in learning more about the work RMHC does, check them out here. If you’d like to make a donation, you can do so here.

BABY MAGIC

When Adlavie was born, I noticed almost right away that her skin was on the drier and more sensitive side. Baby Magic has been a game changer for her, especially in the colder months. We use the Gentle Hair & Body Wash when we give her a warm bath, and then the Gentle Baby Lotion right after, before she gets dressed for bed. The lotion has Vitamins A, B, E, and aloe to moisturize her dry skin. Plus, the scent brings me back to when I was younger. The hair and body wash leaves my Adlavie smelling as sweet as she looks! It’s made with ingredients like Calendula Oil, Coconut Oil and Shea Butter. Calendula Oil has botanical properties that can soothe her dry, itchy, and sensitive skin, so I love using products that incorporate it. The Coconut Oil and Shea Butter give her that soft baby feeling that I cannot get enough of. Lucky for us, all Baby Magic products are dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and dyes!

CANDLEWICK PRESS

Aimery has always enjoyed his books from Candlewick Press, especially I Want My Hat Back, so I was excited to get another book of the collection for Adlavie. Author and Illustrator, Jon Klassen, changed the children’s book world when he released The Rock from the Sky. He is a Caldecott Medalist for his New York Times bestselling Hat Trilogy picture books that include: I Want My Hat Back, This is Not My Hat, and We Found a Hat. Klassen is able to write and illustrate in a way that my kids are drawn to. The overall theme in The Rock from the Sky is friendship, with a bit of humor. Ben and I love reading this story because it keeps us entertained right along with the little ones! If you have a child who is an early reader, this is a great option to help build confidence as there are 40 pages with pictures. It keeps us all laughing, so it was a great addition to our library.

BABY WRAP AND POSTPARTUM SUPPORT BELT

Mamas deserve a little love postpartum. The 3-in-1 Postpartum Recovery Support Belt from KeaBabies supports the spine for breastfeeding, helps the hips return to pre-pregnancy position, and helps to prevent the abdomen from sagging or swelling. Plus, it helps to realign the body for good posture postpartum. I also loved using the KeaBabies Baby Wrap Carrier postpartum because I experienced some back pain with both of my pregnancies. This helped tremendously to evenly distribute weight while I was baby-carrying, leaving me with significantly less back pain. It was also a nice bonding experience because you get to keep your baby as close to you as possible! With Adlavie, I use the Baby Wrap Carrier often because she tends to cry when we put her down around dinner time, making it hard to prepare for the night. It’s been the perfect addition to our routines postpartum. Both KeaBabies products can be snagged here for 10% off, and you can also join their Facebook community here.

OXICLEAN

I’ve learned that being a mama of two means double, and sometimes triple, the laundry! Now that I have a wild 5 month old who seems to get a different stain (on her and us) every time I turn around, I can only use laundry products that I trust will work. Free & Clear from OxiClean has been a game changer for those post-dinner stained clothes. OxiClean is also made free of perfumes, dyes, chlorine, and optical brighteners. I find myself adding it to almost every load now, not just the kids' laundry, because it’s color-safe and works in all machines! You can also order it from Target here!

HOPPY + POPPIE

Emotional intelligence has been a topic that Ben and I have focused on when raising our kids. We want to make sure both Aimery and Adlavie grow up being able to confront situations with a level head, while recognizing and regulating their emotions accordingly. PinkCheeks has been an amazing help with this emotional intelligence journey. The Not So Scary board book, What We Feel board book, Hoppy & Poppie PinkCheeks Plush & 6 Emotion Wristbands, and Patoo Character Blanket have been our favorite products. The Not So Scary board book features characters that present feelings of being excited, nervous, worried, afraid, and curious. The Hoppy & Poppie characters help to facilitate awareness of emotions, while also leading our children to learn higher emotional intelligence skills. The What We Feel board book is in a similar style to Not So Scary, but this time, there are feelings of being sad, happy, calm, peaceful, strong, giggly, loved, and grateful. The Patoo Character Blanket goes along with this board book, as Patoo is a character in it. Empathy skills are Patoo’s specialty! The Hoppy & Poppie Plush and Emotion Wristbands are another favorite because they’re tangible items that often draw in kids’ attention. They make recognizing self-emotions easier, while also teaching more on skills surrounding empathy for others. From 4/15/21 through 5/31/21, you can use the code “Friend10” for 10% off here. You can also view their shop and sign up for their free guide. Don’t forget to read and subscribe to their blog as well!
