This summer has been all about exploration and adventure! Since Aims is getting older, it’s easier for us to pack up and go on trips, even if it’s just for the weekend! It seems like our luck that anytime we go away, someone in the family gets sick. I’ve learned to be more prepared for those circumstances and have put together a list of my ‘Top 7 Health Essentials’, I never miss when packing!
A new season is the perfect time to start new and healthier routines! Now that Aimery is going back to school, I have more time during the day to invest in myself! Over the last few years, it truly has been a balancing act trying to watch Aimery, run my business, and somehow make the time to go to the gym and eat healthy meals. I’ve been wanting to start better eating habits for so long now, but it has been hard to always have recipes ready for every meal. I love meals that are easy to cook while we are running from preschool pickup to soccer practice! I found these four meal ideas that are great for on the go, keep reading for my favorites!
As you most of you know, we recently moved into a new home! I didn’t realize how much stuff we had until it started accumulating in the basement. I’m typically really great about keeping things organized and neat, but being in the basement it was out of sight, out of mind. From Ben’s skateboards to Aimery’s toys, any and all of the miscellaneous junk always found itself on the shelving area. With summer coming to an end and Aims about to start his first year of school, it was time to start fresh. Everything was piling up until the mess was beyond control and I couldn’t take it anymore!
Back-To-School season is quickly approaching - wasn’t it just May?! I can’t believe I’m already prepping for the upcoming school year! This is the first year that Aims will be going to school all day, which means I’m currently on the hunt for lunch box friendly snacks. As he’s getting bigger, I’m becoming more mindful of food I feed him and trying to find snacks that taste great and are good for him, as well.
It’s that time of year again. Days spent attempting to enjoy the last bit of summer while preparing for all things back to school. In the craziness of it all, what better time to treat yourself?! As a busy mom, I have to put aside time for myself, or else I get burned out quickly. I’ve compiled a list of all of my favorite pick-me-ups when busy schedules and obligations get to be too much! Keep reading for my four self-care tips!
Today, our little boy turns three 💛Last weekend we celebrated Aimery by throwing him a small party with our closest family! It wasn’t super pinterest-worthy, but it was a party that we will never forget! It was everything Aims requested, from the party hats to hundreds of balloons. We had an amazing time celebrating him, connecting with our family, and making memories. Keep scrolling for all of the birthday photos!
This year is the first that Aimery will be going to school full day! I’m just as excited as I am nervous, but above all I’m shocked at how fast he’s growing up! It’s so cool to see him developing his own personality and preferences. Now that he’s older, he’s been taking more of an active role in preparing for back to school, where does the time go?!
Can you believe that this summer is already coming to an end? One of my summer goals was to make time for my close friends and family, so I’m doing my best to meet up with everyone during the month of August! This past weekend, I had lunch plans with one of my closest friends. Unfortunately, our lunch plans were a little ruined due to rain so we decided to quickly order some take out!
Did you know that 43% of homeowners have an emergency escape plan and only 33% have discussed fire safety with their family?* In the event of an emergency, every second counts. That’s why it’s important to plan and practice your emergency escape route and discuss fire safety with your entire family. As Aimery is getting older, we want to teach him more about fire safety and what to do in the event that a fire would occur in our home. I initially thought the idea of it might make him scared, but he couldn’t have been more excited to learn and help Ben & I with our preparations!
With back to school season quickly approaching, I’m already dreading the craziness that comes with this time of year! With Aimery back in school and all of us adjusting to new schedules, it’s more important than ever to make time for family dinner. Growing up, my family always made time for each other at the end of most nights, and that is definitely something I want to continue doing with Aims! I’m looking forward to dinner time with my family, even though sometimes it can be stressful to throw together with school, late work nights, and soccer practice taking over our fall routines. I would rather find meals that take under 30 minutes than to be away from Aimery for hours preparing a meal! It can be hard to find quick meal ideas, so I’m always on the lookout for easy meals to throw together and are great for my family!
