Traveling with your little one can be stressful, no matter how many times you’ve been through it! Everything can be going smoothly, then, next thing you know there’s a diaper blowout, crying, and everything feels like it’s going wrong at once. Trust me, I’ve been there! That’s where the baby car kit comes in. Having all your essentials within reach can make those inconveniently timed events sooo much easier and you’ll be back on the road in no time. Come along with me and let’s build a baby car kit!

EXTRA DIAPERS

Extra diapers may seem obvious, but if you’ve ever had to deal with a carseat blowout, you’d understand! Even if you have your diaper bag filled, a few more to keep solely in the car will definitely come in handy when you least expect it. You never know when mommy brain is going to hit!

WATERWIPES

As your little ones get bigger, so does the mess! When it comes to baby messes, I always keep WaterWipes Textured Clean on hand. They’re the World’s Purest Baby Wipes, so I feel confident using them on my kids. Although now with the kids growing and more messes than ever, I need that extra boost of cleaning power. The new WaterWipes Textured Clean wipes contain simply two ingredients, 99.9% water and a drop of fruit & berry extracts! Here’s that boost: they have an added texture for a little scrubbing and natural fruit cleanser for that extra push of cleansing power. They’ve even been awarded the Seal of Acceptance by the National Eczema Association, so you can use their products with confidence on the most sensitive skin. The food scraps, playground dirt, and whatever else they manage to get into will not stand a chance against these wipes! Having an easy clean-up method for those unwanted messes on your babes hands, face, and bottom will be a lifesaver on long trips. Walmart carries them in store and online, so pickup will be a breeze no matter your destination!

DISPOSABLE BIBS

If you ever feed on the go, a pack of disposable bibs should be in your cart! They’re so easy to toss on your babe when you’re not home. Then just trash them when you’re done. Find a pack that has the crumb-collecting pocket to make clean-up even faster!

FIRST AID SET

Bumps, scrapes, scratches, and bruises are bound to happen. It’s always great to have bandages or a travel ice pack within reach for small incidents! It’s easy to put together your own or find a pre-made set to slip into your car kit. Also, I recommend adding information cards with contacts and any medical information needed in an emergency.

SNACKS

Baby-friendly snacks can be super helpful, especially in those unexpected traffic jams and long lines. A hungry baby is not a happy baby, so a quick snack is key. In my car, puffs seem to be a fan-favorite!

PLASTIC TRASH BAGS

Remember that unexpected diaper blowout we talked about before? You definitely don’t need another mess on the floor of your car from this incident, so pack a few plastic bags to toss all your trash in.

EXTRA WATER

A few bottled waters can come in handy for an emergency formula feeding! It’s best to keep water in a dry cooler in the trunk to avoid extreme heat and cold. When you’re stuck behind a pile up and the next exit isn’t for miles, a few extra bottles of water can be essential.

AN EXTRA SET OF CLOTHES

If you have messy little ones like I do, an extra set of clothes could be a great addition to your kit. A simple shirt and pants will do the job. PS, if that blowout ruins any clothes, you’ll want realllllly that extra set!

Creating your own baby car kit can help put your mind at ease, knowing that you’re covered no matter what situation comes up. Stressful situations are always bound to happen. It’s best to be prepared before you actually need to be stressed!
