Candy Corn Rice Krispy Treats

Halloween is this weekend, I can almost smell the candy! The weather has been a bit gloomy, so I wanted to get my family in the Halloween mood and make a fun treat for us all to enjoy. I decided to whip up some quick Candy Corn Rice Krispy Treats! If you know me, I’m all for easy recipes, and this one definitely fits my criteria! 🤪 A little food coloring and white chocolate can take your typical Rice Krispy Treats and make them extra spooky!

*Pro Tip: add candy eyeballs to make your treats even more spooky!*

What you’ll need…

  • 6 tbsp salted butter

  • 6 cups rice krispies cereal

  • 16 oz bag mini marshmallows, divided

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • yellow and red food coloring

  • 1 cup candy corn

  • white chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Once melted, add in the mini marshmallows and stir constantly until the marshmallows are melted (don’t let them burn!).

  3. Add in a few drops of yellow and red food coloring and stir until you get the orange color you’re looking for. Remove your pot from the stove.

  4. Add in the Rice Krispy cereal and mix thoroughly until every piece is coated in marshmallow. Don’t be afraid to add more red and yellow food coloring if necessary! Press the mixture into a sprayed baking dish to set - remember not to press too firmly or your treats will be too hard. Set them aside to cool and set.

  5. Top with candy corn and drizzled melted chocolate.

There has always been a huge debate over real candy corn, whether it’s actually good or not. Which side are you on? Let me know in the comments!

So yummy 👍

The worst! 👎
