Moms, we need to make more time for ourselves.

I’ll be the first to admit that I am probably the absolute worst at putting my own needs above everyone else’s. Over the last couple of months, it has gotten to the point where I do nothing for myself. Not one thing. I wake up, take care of my son, go to work, take care of him again, cook dinner, clean the house, check some more emails, and then sleep for a few hours before getting up to do it al over again. Does this sound familiar? I’m a 24/7 single parent. Running the show without a break is just exhausting! Don’t get me wrong, I love parenting… but man, can it burn you out. So this week, I decided that it was going to be different. I had my mom watch Aimery so I could go get my hair + nails done. I went on a date. I finally worked out at the gym. And right now… I’m drinking a cup of tea and watching Netflix by myself for the first time in WEEKS. Life is just crazy, right? What I’m trying to say is this… If no one has told you that you deserve a break today, you do. Do something that you want to do this week, just for yourself. You will be a better mom for it!
