How I'm Staying Fit as a Single Mom

For the month of February, I have decided that I am going to be putting my health first. Like I wrote about in this post, the last four months have been really stressful with becoming a single mom and so I haven't been taking any time for my health and fitness. Becoming a single mom has definitely been giving me a lot of anxiety and has not only been affecting me emotionally, but also physically. My weight hasn't been consistent recently because I haven't made a plan for eating healthy or working out. I'm allowing myself to start over on February 1st, and really focus on meeting my health and fitness goals.

MY FITNESS GOALS

My main goal for February is to go to the gym five times a week, even if it's just for 30 minutes! Recently I've been dropping Aimery off at his daycare 30 minutes earlier, and that has really been helping me make time to work out everyday. I absolutely love weight lifting, so I really want to be back to how much I was lifting previously by the time this month is over. I also want to get back into running. I would love to be back to running 3 miles a few times a week by month end also! I recently received Boody's new activewear line, and it has really helped motivate me to get myself to the gym!

MY HEALTH GOALS

I have gained about 10 pounds over the last four months. I remember stepping on the scale about a week ago and being completely shocked because up until now, my weight has almost stayed the same since I was in high school. Even when I had Aimery, I was back to my normal weight six weeks postpartum. I'm looking to lose 10 pounds this month so I can be back at my healthy weight. To keep myself accountable, I signed up for the 28-day Personal Trainer Food meal plan. For the month of February, I will be eating 3 pre-packaged meals a day that are high in protein and healthy fats. Along with the meal plan, Personal Trainer also gave me a personal coach that will be encouraging me everyday to reach my goals. I am looking forward to seeing how the plan works for me, and I'll be sure to keep you updated!

Over the last few months I have found that although it may seem impossible to make time for my health and fitness, it is possible! I'm really looking forward to giving myself a new start in February and reaching all my goals. How are you staying healthy in this new year?
