Fifty plus years ago, March 8th became a national holiday celebrating women’s rights. It started off by celebrating working women and was quickly adopted by the feminist movement many years later, which is still present to this day! I believe all women should be appreciated every day, but when given the chance to dedicate a whole day to women, I’d like to give my mom the recognition she deserves. Growing up, my mom was a hard working stay-at-home mom who sacrificed a lot to be able to take care of my siblings and I. She also took me in as a single mom and continues to help me with childcare for my son. She is a large part of my life and continues to show me what woman can do, and her influence empowers me to be who I am today. This year for International Women’s Day, I’m putting together a basket for my mom. Are you looking to create a basket for the special women in your life this March? Keep reading for the five things I’m including in my women's basket!

ACTIVEWEAR

The first thing I really wanted to include was a cute adidas outfit for my mom! Personally, I always feel much more confident working out in new activewear, so I wanted to give that to my mom this women’s day! Comfort is key for my mom and I, which is why I picked out these new pair of leggings and this cute top! Adidas is all about body positivity, especially with their She Breaks Barriers campaign, so I love supporting their brand on International Women’s Day.

GLASS WATERBOTTLE

Along with activewear, I also picked up a glass water bottle for her workouts. We are both environmentally conscious, so we love investing in glass products that can be reused. You can never have too many water bottles! Right?

HAND WEIGHTS

My mom recently ended her gym membership because it became too much for her to go to the gym every day. She’s been doing a lot more workouts at home, so I thought it would be a good idea to include a pair of hand weights for her to add to her workouts. With these weights, she can continue to do her favorite arm workouts that she did at the gym but do it in the comfort of her own home.

SCRUNCHIES

Scrunchies are getting even more popular now for their look, feel and how well they hold hair up. My mom always compliments me on my “hair ties” so I thought she should enjoy them as much as I do. Plus who doesn’t love new scrunchies? With these scrunchies, my mom can throw her hair up and still be stylish when working out. There are many different colors to choose from, making it easier to style them with not only her activewear but her everyday style as well.

EYE MASK

Often times as women, we don’t take the time that we should to rest. It’s important to have a day to focus on our self-love every week! In this basket, I included a gel eye mask because of how much it helps with inflammation which is great around this time of year. It also helps get rid of dark circles around the eyes and the puffiness that the eyes might have!

International Women's Day is more than a day to gift others, it’s a day to give recognition to the hard-working, beautiful, and unique woman in the world! My mom has inspired me in more ways than I can list, and today I’m dedicating to making her feel loved and appreciated for all that she’s done for me. By giving her this gift basket, I hope she feels appreciated and these items will help her health and wellness journey! Who will you recognize this women's day? Let me know in the comments below!
