Three Recipes to Make this Week

Now that summer is here, I love using fresh produce from our local farmers market in all my recipes! It’s so fun taking the kids to pick out weekly produce and get them more hands on in the kitchen now that summer break is here. For my danish recipe, I used Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Dough that is flaky, layered, and ready to bake! It’s perfect for both sweet and savory recipes, which makes it perfect for my fruit and cream cheese danish! I’m sharing the recipe with you below!

FRUIT + CREAM CHEESE DANISH

What you’ll need…

Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Dough

8 oz cream cheese

1 tablespoon sour cream

4 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 lime, juiced

2.5 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup blueberries

13 Strawberries, halved

3 tablespoons butter, melted

powdered sugar for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Unroll Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Dough on your baking sheet, leaving baking paper. Using a 4.5 inch biscuit cutter or drinking glass, cut out 4 rounds of dough. Score each round with a smaller drinking glass. Gather remaining dough and roll out to make two more rounds. 

  3. In a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, lime juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Please two tablespoons of cream cheese mixture on each round and spread with spoon.

  4. Place desired amount of blueberries on half the rounds, and strawberries on the other half. Brush butter on the rims of each round.

  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rounds are lightly browned.

  6. Cool to room temperature before serving.
