During the holiday season, travel is inevitable! My best friend, Lauren, just moved down to South Carolina and I’m already planning a trip to come visit her in December! It can be stressful and hectic to travel around this time of year, but there’s a few things I do to prepare that make it easy and less stressful. Keep reading for my top 5 holiday travel tips!

AVOID PEAK TRAVEL TIMES (IF YOU CAN!)

I have found so much success in visiting friends and family before the actual holiday! Whenever possible, I try to book flights in early December, before the holiday rush begins. For example, I’m traveling to South Carolina in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so you hit that sweet spot in between where flights tend to be so much cheaper and traffic isn’t at it’s peak!

CBD GUMMIES

I’m a huge fan of using CBD, especially when traveling! It’s known to relieve stress and help with sleep, which can be really helpful on the go! There’s 0% THC, it’s non-intoxicating, and legal across the US! My favorite are PLUS Products (https://plusproducts.com/) CBD Gummies! They come in convenient packing and are perfect for fitting in your pocket! I always start with one gummy to find the right fit for me! For a limited time, you can use code JUSTRIGHT15 for 15% off your order! Expires: 12/15/19.

I love the Balance Blueberry Gummies complement the serenity already inside of you, so you can find your perfect moment and stay there. Each blueberry gummy has 50mg of CBD, fewer than five calories, and a calming flavor that brings you back to your baseline. I take one of them before I leave for the airport to stay calm during travel!

The Sleep Blackberry Tea Gummies are made for bedtime to help you power down after a long day. When I travel for work, it's sometimes hard to power down. Each sleep gummy has 25mg of CBD and 1mg of melatonin with calming blackberry chamomile flavors so they’re great for dozing off — not feeling off.

LEAVE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE

Even during non-peak times, delays are to be expected. On the drive down to South Carolina, I know I have to go through DC, so I try to plan so that I’m not hitting it during rush hour. That being said, when traveling on the road you’re bound to run into construction or an accident so it never hurts to plan ahead! As for flights, I always try to get there at least 90 minutes before for domestic flights and 2-3 hours for international, but during the holidays you might want to get there sooner. Try to leave for the airport early, rather than arrive at the airport early. During the holidays, lines are longer for shuttles and transportation isn’t as readily available.

CHECK ALTERNATIVE AIRPORTS

Airline prices fluctuate so much, especially during the holiday season! Departing from another nearby airport can save you tons of money. We live in proximity to airports in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, & Washington DC so I always make sure to check them all to ensure finding the best deal!

PURCHASE TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME

Generally when booking travel, the sooner the better. The closer it gets to the holidays, the more the prices will increase. Whether it’s my plane, train or bus, I’d recommend getting your tickets in advance! Even things like scheduling an uber to the airport or getting gas the night before, can save you the hassle.

Holiday travel can be hectic, but so worth it! There’s something special about getting to spend time with loved ones, especially around the holidays. Hopefully these tips helped you when preparing and planning so you can get to your holiday destination without the stress! What are your favorite holiday travel hacks?
