My Vegan Skincare Routine with Osea Malibu

Many of you know that I decided to go vegan two weeks ago, and I can definitely say that I am NEVER going back. What I didn't realize was that being vegan is more then just changing your diet, it's about changing your lifestyle. To be honest, up until a few days ago I had no idea that there were animal products in a lot of the products that I use on an everyday basis. A lot of the products that were not vegan were centered around skincare! Honestly, I didn't even realize that all skincare wasn't vegan. While washing my face in the morning with Osea's Cleansing Mudd (see why I love this product here ), I noticed that the bottle said vegan. I was really confused because I assumed all skincare was vegan! After all, what animal product would they need to put in skincare? Well, after doing some research I found that not only do most skincare companies test their products on animals, but some also use ingredients like stearic acid (fatty acid found in animals and plants) and sodium tallowate (lye and animal fat).

WHAT! I was in total shock.

Needless to say, I'm so glad that my favorite skincare line is vegan. Oseamalibu is a skincare company passionate about keeping harmful ingredients out of their skincare. Here are some things that you won't find in Osea's products:

  • animal by-products
  • synthetic fragrance
  • gluten
  • parabens
  • nano-materials
  • petro-materials
  • petroleum
  • phthalates
  • sulfates
  • synthetic fillers

Osea is passionate about creating skincare that is organic and vegan, with plant-based ingredients that nourish your skin. You will find all-natural ingredients like seaweed, plants, flowers, salts, botanicals, and essential oils in their products. They have even made the pledge to help phase out all toxic ingredients from skincare, which is one of the many reasons why I support their company. How awesome would it be if all skincare companies took toxins out of their skincare products?! In fact, they were the FIRST company to be apart of The Compact for Global Production of Safe Health and Beauty Products in 2002, and since then over 1,000 companies have joined.

After reading about all of the harmful ingredients that other companies use in their skincare products, I'm so happy that I use Osea in my everyday skincare routine. It's no secret that my favorite skincare products are algae masks! Osea has three different algae masks -- Red, White, and Black (and I'm obsessed with all three of them)! All masks are similar, but have different skin benefits.

The Red Algae Mask is made especially for purifying, while hydrating at the same time! If you have dry or blemish prone skin, this one is for you! The Red Algae Mask minimizes pores, hydrates, and firms skin while masking blemishes -- you can even use this mask as a spot treatment! The White Algae Mask is especially made for people looking for age defying benefits. This mask helps with dull skin, uneven skin tones, and fine lines and wrinkles. This makes skin plump and bright -- especially if you leave it on overnight. I also wrote about the Black Algae Mask here, it's great for exfoliating your skin if it isn't too sensitive!

Another product that I want to talk about (that isn't a mask) is the Osea Brightening Serum. I started using this brightening serum in combination with my Osea masks. Although Osea directs using the masks twice a week, this serum is great in combination with the masks and its recommended use is twice daily (morning and night). This product is great for all skin tones, especially those looking for age defying benefits. This serum creates a more even skintone, diminishes dark spots, and brightens complexion while hydrating skin for a more youthful appearance. You can even buy the brightening serum and white mask as a set here

I believe that every women should take time to focus on their skin each day. Using an all-natural, vegan, nontoxic skincare line is just another step for me to have healthier skin and a better lifestyle. What I said in my previous post about Osea remains true -- I don't tell you guys to try out every product I review, but this company is truly my favorite skincare line. Comment below if you've tried Osea's products!

I have been sponsored by Oseamalibu for this post; however, I am sharing my own thoughts. All opinions are my own.
