Tis the season for fun recipes and baking with family! Now that the weather is colder, I love finding things to do for our family inside, and better yet, in the comfort of our home. Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that baking, and cooking in general, is a passion of mine!

I don’t always have a lot of time to spend trying out new recipes, but when I do I jump at the chance. By combining my love for food and family time, it’s the best of both worlds! One thing I’ve always wanted to make is Rainbow Bagels! I thought Ben & I could tackle the recipe this weekend and surprise Aims for brunch!

This recipe was not only fun to make but the end result was so cute (recipe below)! To elevate the finished product we used our Revolution Cooking™ R180 High-Speed Smart Toaster! Ever since getting it, it’s totally revolutionized the way we toast; Ben is obsessed 😍

It’s smarter, with its intuitive touch screen display that even lets you customize your desired shade and crispness! It was perfect for this recipe, producing a tastier end result, by locking in moisture and flavor with its quick turnaround time! That feature is especially great for mornings when we’re rushed but I want to make Aims a good breakfast before school.

This toaster is amazing, even working on frozen foods while delivering consistent browning by adjusting time and temperature! It is much faster, heating up and toasting in a fraction of the time of conventional toasters while using less energy, which is something I can really appreciate as a busy mom! For a limited time, use code REVCOOK20 for 20% savings on the product, valid for use from 12/1 – 12/31

The best part was Aims’ reaction! He thought it was the coolest thing and now wants us to make all kinds of rainbow foods 😂Now that he’s old enough he loves being independent whenever possible, so he loved how he could go on and choose how he wanted his bagel toasted! It’s the little things that make this kid so happy. Now all I want is to make fun foods with our new R180 Toaster, what suggestions do you have for our next family baking day?

RAINBOW BAGELS

Instructions:

Mix warm water and sugar in a large bowl. Add yeast to sugar water and let sit until it bubbles and foams (almost 10 minutes)

Next, add flour, oil, salt to the water.

Mix dough for 5 minutes until too thick to mix.

Next, remove dough from the bowl and knead by hand for another 5 minutes until smooth. Add flour if dough is still sticky.

Place the dough in a large bowl greased with oil and cover with plastic wrap. Move to a warm place and let rise for 60 minutes.

Once risen, punch the dough down and divide into 6 portions. Begin to dye each portion with food coloring. (Tip: use yellow and red to make orange, and blue and red to make purple).

Then knead each piece for 10-15 minutes to get the bright colors! Roll out each ball into a small rectangle and stack in order before twisting the stack together to make a rainbow log.

Once completed, divide the rainbow log into 8 colorful balls.
Make a hole in the center of each ball and stretch to make the bagel hole, and set bagels aside to let rise for 10 minutes, covered.

While bagels are rising, preheat your oven to 450 degrees and bring a large pot of water to a boil. Once bagels have risen, drop 3-4 at a time into the boiling water for 30 seconds on each side.

Let bagels dry on a cooling rack. After they have boiled, bake them for 15 minutes on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Before eating, pop in the Revolution Cooking™ R180 High-Speed Smart Toaster, for elevated toasting!
