What to Pack for a Lake Trip with Kids
I have received information and materials from ©Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. 2018. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post. #SunnyMoments #CollectiveBias
Some of my favorite childhood moments were those spent at the lake. Growing up, my family always went to Deep Creek Lake with our family and friends for a week out of the summer. It was always a lazy, lots of jet skiing week filled with fun memories. When all the kids grew up and life got in the way, trips to the lake every summer weren't a priority with everything else going on. We actually haven't been to that lake in years! I'm SO excited though, because my parents decided to book a lake house for a week this August. Aimery will finally be able to have the same experiences that I did when I was younger, and I'm really looking forward to experiencing Deep Creek Lake with him.
Until then, we have been taking trips to a local (and much smaller) lake to escape the heat here in Pennsylvania. We went again this week and I figured it would be fun to share what I pack when Aimery and I head to the lake! Because I have a toddler, I tend to always overpack for lake trips. But here are 8 lake day must-haves!
ALL THE SNACKS
Bringing a baby to the beach means you have to bring SO MANY snacks. There's never enough. Try packing fruits and vegetables in a cooler to keep it healthy!
SUNSCREEN FOR BABY AND MAMA
Sunscreen is a must for everyone... And especially for Aimery and I with our sensitive, pale skin! If we are in the sun for more then 15 minutes we will start to burn. For Aimery, I use Aveeno® Baby Continuous Protection® Sensitive Skin Zinc Oxide Sunscreen in SPF 50. I trust Aveeno® for Aimery because their brand is recommended by pediatricians and dermatologists. The sunscreen contains the highest level of zinc oxide for superior UVA/UVB protection for babies with sensitive skin. It's also free of all parabens, phthalates, dyes, fragrances & chemicals which means it's tear-free and clinically shown to be as gentle as water.
For me, I use AVEENO® PROTECT + HYDRATE® Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum with SPF 70 for my body and AVEENO® PROTECT + HYDRATE® Lotion Sunscreen with Broad Spectrum SPF 50 for Face for my face and neck. Formulated with skin-soothing ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal, this sunscreen hydrates my skin to keep it soft, smooth and feeling healthier. It provides 24-hr skin hydration against chlorine, salt water and sweat while being oil-free, noncomedogenic and fast absorbing.
You can save $3 off any Aveeno Sun or Aveeno Baby Sun product at CVS through Ibotta: http://cbi.as/a20o8
Aimery loves playing with shovels, buckets, balls, and cars while at the lake.
FRISBEE, SOCCER BALL, BUBBLES
Keep it cool. 😎
BAG WITH THE ESSENTIALS
Diapers, swim diapers, wipes, an extra change of clothes, towels, water bottles, and sippy cups! And don't forget everything you may need - like a camera, portable phone charger, and a book!
Gotta be safe!
I prefer to bring along a blanket instead of a bunch of towels so Aimery has a large play and rest area!
